Low refrigerant (a leak)
A/C systems are sealed. If the refrigerant is low, there's a leak — at a hose, seal, condenser or evaporator. 'Recharging' without fixing the leak is a temporary fix.
Compressor or clutch
If the compressor doesn't engage, nothing gets cold. Causes include a failed clutch, a fuse or relay, or a pressure switch.
Condenser or cooling fan
The condenser sits in front of the radiator. If it's blocked, damaged (a common result of front-end collisions) or the fan doesn't run, A/C gets weak in traffic.
Works sometimes, not always
Intermittent A/C is often electrical: a sensor, a relay, a blend door actuator or a wiring problem. These need proper diagnosis, not guessing.
What we do
We check pressures, look for leaks, test the electrical side and give you a written estimate.
FAQ
Is it OK to use an A/C recharge kit from the store?
It may help briefly, but overfilling can damage the compressor, and it doesn't fix the leak.
