Frequently Asked Questions
F.A.Q
Will I really pay $0 deductible?
Yes. For insurance-covered repairs, NewGen absorbs your deductible — you pay nothing out of pocket beyond what your policy already covers.
Can I choose NewGen even if my insurance recommends a different shop?
Absolutely. In every state, you have the legal right to choose your own repair shop — your insurance company cannot require you to use theirs.
How long will my repair take?
Most collision repairs take 5–10 business days depending on parts availability and the extent of structural damage. We’ll give you a firm timeline after inspection.
Do you offer a rental car while my car is in the shop?
If your policy includes rental coverage, we coordinate directly with your insurer to arrange it — usually starting the same day you drop off your car.
How do I know if my frame is actually bent?
You usually can’t tell by looking. Signs include the car pulling to one side, uneven tire wear, or doors that don’t close flush. A full measurement during your free inspection will confirm it either way.
Is frame straightening covered by insurance?
In almost all cases, yes, when the damage is from a covered collision. We handle the documentation and submission directly with your carrier.
Will the new paint fade differently than the rest of my car over time?
We account for existing fade when matching, and use the same UV-resistant clear coat as factory paint, so it ages at the same rate as the rest of your vehicle.
Does insurance cover full panel blending?
When blending is needed to avoid a visible color mismatch, this is a standard, insurance-recognized part of a proper repair, and we include it in the estimate we submit.
Will PDR work on my dent?
Most dents without cracked paint or sharp creases are good candidates. We’ll tell you for free during inspection — no guesswork.
My warning light isn't on — do I still need a diagnostic scan after an accident?
Yes. Many fault codes don’t trigger a dashboard light right away, especially for airbag and sensor systems. A scan catches what the dashboard doesn’t show.
Can you fix issues unrelated to an accident, like a check engine light?
Absolutely — our diagnostic and mechanical services aren’t limited to collision work. We handle general mechanical repairs too.
